*Contest fees due 7 days prior to contest date. Schools will be taken off the schedule if payment is not received!  Fees will not be accepted at the door.

1. Solo and Ensemble competition will be held Friday, February 24th in the Main Gym.  Doors will open at 4:15 p.m. (not before) for registration and floor practice.  (O’Connor H.S.’s last bell rings at 4:15 p.m. and 3100 students will be moving toward the parking lots and bus area.)  Solo and Ensemble competition will begin promptly at 5:00 in the Main Gym and the alternate gym.  Saturday’s contest begins at 8 a.m. in the Main Gym and the doors will open at 6:50 a.m.  The alternate gym area (next to the Main Gym) will be available for warm-up and rehearsal and is the size of a regulation basketball court. The flooring in each gym is a regulation size wood floor.  In the Main Gym area, there is enough seating for spectators.  We would like to reserve the performance side for all paying spectators.  Teams must sit on the opposite side for viewing only.  All participants must be lined up 15 minutes ahead of schedule. For details concerning props and flooring in all performance areas, we recommend that you call Aubrey Garcia at O’Connor H.S. 2. Please have all routines choreographed within the boundary lines.  There WILL NOT be overflow.  Additional chairs will be set-up on the performance side floor level for spectators if necessary.
3. Teams may have floor spacing before contest and during all break intervals.  Please keep in mind that many schools would like to use the floor.  We ask that you limit your time to floor spacing and formation changes.  Move on and off as quickly as possible.  ►Main Gym: Enter from judges’ right back corner and exit judges’ right front corner.
4. Each school will be assigned a classroom as their dressing area.  Please leave rooms neat and clean.  No food or drinks will be allowed in this area.   ABSOLUTELY NO MEN ALLOWED IN DRESSING FACILITIES!  Please contact Aubrey Garcia in advance if you have male dancers.  DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES UNSUPERVISED AS THIS AREA IS NOT SECURED.
5. Be aware that the teams on deck area can become “jammed.”  Please inform parents and supporters to stay out of this area during the contest.
6. Prop Reminder: Again, please review the prop information specified in GENERALCONTEST INFORMATION.  Props are to be brought in at the time of the category.  Props not protected (even if only a stage set) will not be allowed onto the floor.  BE PREPARED!  We would hate  to refuse a team’s performance due to lack of reading the rules.  All props will be checked.

►ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE FOOD/DRINKS/ICE CHESTS WILL BE ALLOWED INSIDE THE ATHLETIC COMPLEX!   NO EXCEPTIONS!

• Be aware that inexpensive and large chain store recordable CD’s are less reliable (ex. Office Depot, Best Buy, Memorex).
• Make sure when burning audio tracks that the entire disc is finalized and not just the individual session/track.  This ensures the track number and audio time displayed.
• If recording in mixed media mode (data & audio) it could cause the CD player to have difficulty in reading the disc and display an error message during playback.
• Be aware that the audio sessions burned/recorded on a personal computer using a program that is selected to playback only on a personal computer, could cause the CD player to have difficulty in reading the disc and will display an error message.
• Please have a copy of your music placed on tape cassette as a back-up.  Make sure the tape is with you at the sound table during the performance.
